The emergence over the last twenty years of a vibrant and diverse population of artists in the small East Coast Suffolk village of Chillesford is a phenomenon that has delighted its residents.
Wishing to embrace this creativity, the people of Chillesford are opening up their gardens to display as much of the sculptures and art as possible.
St. Peter’s Church, constructed of the local coralline ‘crag’, will house an exhibition of paintings and act a a starting place for the trail. Here visitors can pick up a guide and set off on a tour of the ‘Gardens of Art’, ending up at the Froize Inn. There they will be able to enjoy an extensive collection of rare pheasant breeds whilst taking tea and refreshments.
